The best shot I’ve seen was the chip shot by James Lepp on his 72nd Hole at Caves Valley at the 2005 NCAA Championships. He had to get up and down to shoot 63 and force a playoff. He was over the green, going straight downhill, in ankle high rough. I wanted him to go sideways and try to make a 20 footer because I didn’t think it was possible to stop the ball going directly at the hole because of the severe slope. There was a large tier just past the pin so if he went past the hole at all he would end up at the very front of the green with a 50-footer. Fortunately, his disagreed and hit an absolutely amazing shot. He went on to win in the playoff. I found this press release with a photo of the shot and a description by James: http://www.gohuskies.com/sports/m-golf/spec-rel/060405aab.html
